Get To Know Dr. Gitterman
Dr. Sarah Gitterman grew up in Maryland, where her love of horses began after starting riding lessons at age 10. Although she comes from a family of human medical professionals, she has always been passionate about animals and discovered her calling in equine medicine while riding along with a local veterinarian during college.
She earned a B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, and worked at a therapeutic riding center throughout her undergraduate years. She then moved to Colorado for veterinary school, where she graduated in 2023. After earning her DVM, she completed a one-year internship at Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital in Washington State before joining the practice’s field service team.
Dr. Gitterman is excited to be back in Colorado and enjoys helping horses and their owners through all stages of life. Her professional interests include emergency care, geriatric medicine, and internal medicine.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her fiancé, Jonathon, watching hockey, and spending time with her OTTB Charlie.
