Get To Know Dr. Lente
Dr. Leeroy Lente was born and raised in New Mexico, where he grew up working with beef cattle and Quarter Horses. Inspired by the hard work he witnessed at community cattle ranges and livestock auctions, he developed a strong appreciation for the human animal bond and a calling to veterinary medicine.
He earned his Bachelor’s in Animal Science in 2019 and a Master’s in Ruminant Nutrition at Colorado State University in 2022. While in graduate school, he apprenticed as a farrier, which sparked his interest in equine lameness and therapeutic shoeing. He went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from CSU in 2024, focusing on equine sports medicine.
Dr. Lente has practiced in Scottsdale, Arizona, with special interests in sports medicine, lameness, performance health, and dentistry. With a background in both ruminant nutrition and equine medicine, he offers a well-rounded approach to advanced care, diagnostics, and rehabilitation.
Outside of work, Dr. Lente is an avid runner, marathoner, and ultramarathon finisher. He also enjoys live music, disc golf, snowboarding, and western horseback riding.
